Character Development Can Be Fun

Making Character Development fun

Meet the Spruce Street Six & Zaki:

Hi! I'm Kind Shawnie. Welcome to Spruce Street!
I love music, dancing, art, reading, and, well, shoes. Right now, I'm saving money to buy my next new "favorite" pair. But more than anything, I care about my friends in the Spruce Street Six. They know I'll always be there for them.

Hello, I'm Lauren Never Quits.
My Spruce Street Six friends say I'm organized and determined-and that I never give up. I love to sing and perform. I also enjoy writing stories and keeping track of our adventures in my journal.

Hey, I'm Jessica the Brave.
My favorite toy is "Valor," a stuffed animal lion that I take with me everywhere. I love playing soccer and baseball, but I also like to do "girly" things like shopping for jewelry. The other members of the Spruce Street Six can always count on me to lead them on new adventures.

What's up? I'm Honest Jake.
Everyone in Middlebury knows that when you see me, you'll see my dog, Rex, right by my side. Besides dogs, I also love sports and science fiction. My pals in the Spruce Street Six know they can trust me to tell the truth.

How's it goin'? I'm Jarrett the Just.
My favorite sport is football, and my dream is to be a professional football player someday. My favorite subject is math. My buddies in the Spruce Street Six think I'm good at being fair, so I'm usually the one who makes sure we divide things equally.

Calm Carlos here.
My Spruce Street Six friends tell me I'm the best soccer player they know, but my favorite hobby is probably watching World Racing Organization car races. I love having fun and going on adventures. My friends know they can count on me in a crisis.

Hi there! I'm Zaki, the "character chameleon."
I live in the branches of the tallest tree on Spruce Street. From my perch, I keep an eye on my friends in the Spruce Street Six (SS6) and help them when they need me. Like all chameleons, I can change color to camouflage myself, but I also change color to communicate with the SS6. Sometimes, when no one else is around, I'll even talk to them. The kids have lots of questions about why I came to help them and how I can talk, but even chameleons need to have a few secrets . . . don't you think?
